The commissioner in charge of security at the Yaounde Nsimalem
Airport, Adolf Edimo, is reported to have been called to question
following the alleged escape of Dieudonne Ambassa Zang using the
airport as his exit point.

parliamentarian for Mefou et Afamba and former Minister of Transport
who has been under the scanner of the ministry of justice and the
supreme state control for allegedly siphoning state funds, is said to
be on the run.
According to security sources, Ambassa Zang left the country to
the US on 11 July via the Nsimalen airport in Yaounde after a tip off
from some of his colleagues that the Minister of Justice has ordered
for the uplifting of his parliamentary immunity.
the Delegation of National Security said the parliamentarian could not
be traced nor reached by phone when he was summoned to appear before
the executive bureau of the national assembly last week.
to the standing orders of the House of Assembly, a parliamentarian
under the process of losing his immunity for whatever reasons has the
right to defence.
According to Hon Joseph Mbah Ndam of the SDF, the
absence of the accused and the need for the Executive Bureau members to
be versed with the intricacies of the embezzlement allegations, were
the main reasons for the postponement of the deliberation to decide on
the matter. The Bureau which met for one hour fifteen minutes was
adjourned to sometime in August.
He clarified that for now it is only the file of Ambassa Zang that is under examination.
The escape of Ambassa Zang is said to have greatly angered the Presidency and the Ministry of Justice.
to security sources, a list of officials under judicial surveillance
with embargo not to leave the country is in the keeping of security
officials at the airport. It is still not clear how the parliamentarian
from Mefou et Afamba managed to sneak his way through
Minister of Justice and the Supreme State Control ordered for the
uplifting of Ambassa Zang’s immunity to give way for the judiciary to
examine the case of embezzlement of sate funds worth FCFA 8 billion,
while he served as Minister of Public Works.

bridges in Douala and Ebebda respectively.
If found guilty in court,
then Ambassa Zang will join the gang of state fund pilfers currently
wailing in agony at the Kondengui prison.
