Two of the country's star players have saluted the arrival of the former PSG coach to the helm of the Indomitable Lions…
Samuel Eto'o and Stephane Mbia have saluted the appointment of Frenchman Paul Le Guen as the new coach of Cameroon.
"We will need his calmness and experience as we aim to qualify for the World Cup," Eto'o, the Barcelona striker, told L'Equipe newspaper.
"He is welcome and we will give him our maximum support."
Mbia, the new Olympique Marseille signing, said Le Guen's engagement is a good start for Cameroon.
The midfielder revealed that while he was at Rennes, Le Guen tried to sign him for Paris Saint-Germain but his former club refused to let him go.
Cameroon are bottom of their World Cup qualifying group and need something close to a miracle to make it to South Africa 2010.
